Its been quite some time since we have been able to celebrate the excellence of our region in person and award those who have excelled in their sectors. It was great to see so many Engineering & Manufacturing Network members recognised at this weeks Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) awards and tomorrow sees the Insider Media MADE IN THE NORTH EAST awards at Hilton Gateshead.
We are very pleased to be presenting this years export award which following two extraordinary years has to be a very hard area of business to excel in. This follows escalating raw material prices, huge energy rises, increased talent retention and acquisition costs and huge increases in shipping, not to mention increased complications in the process itself. Opening the envelope in any category is a rush, but huge respect to all who submitted for this very difficult area of business.
Our network includes a huge number of great businesses and this year as a judge seeing so many submit across most categories shows that despite all that has happened we are still a region not only with great success but also one that will celebrate it.
