Its always an absolute pleasure to reward hard work and at Engineering & Manufacturing Network we like to put our money where our mouth is!

For almost 6 years, since our inception we have highlighted the benefits of apprenticeships to our network and how working with the regions incredible training providers supports employment and builds sustainable businesses.

Last year when the government launched the Kickstart scheme we decided that time was right to increase our workforce as the demand on our resources was becoming greater and greater.

Initially we took on two great people to help with both administration and digital aspects of our daily life and are very pleased to announce that on successful completion of the 6 month programme we have welcomed Christopher Hird to our team as a full time apprentice.

Unfortunately we couldn’t retain both staff but supported our outgoing team member into additional support and employment. The 6 months working with Chris highlighted a skillset that we didn’t have as an operational team or board, but that it was a need that we had to continue to take us forward on our exciting and busy journey.

Many of you will remember Chris from EMCON Engineering & Manufacturing Show where he was helping our chairman Dave Land and Jim Imrie with the exhibitor interviews and you will be seeing and hearing more from him over the coming weeks and months.

Even as a small team we recognise the need to build and invest in a sustainable support structure for our network. We’d love to encourage you all to do the same.

If you want to build a #sustainable business and create jobs for the engineering and manufacturing sector but don’t know where to start with apprenticeships then please get in touch and we can introduce you to the right people to take the next step.
