What is your role at Prep-Rite UK Flooring Services Limited?
I am a director of the company along with my partner Lyn. I do the hands-on work whilst Lyn does everything behind the scenes! We run a small team who are trustworthy and responsible, there is excellent staff morale within our team.
What does Prep-Rite do?
We provide surface preparation to remove concrete laitance, screed or paints using our dust-controlled floor grinders and STR machines with our own supplied power.
Our specialist material systems are mainly to industrial and commercial customers. We specialise in self-smoothing, epoxy & resin coatings and polyurethane screeds. These can increase light reflectivity by up to 300%, give good chemical resistance and be used for decorative purposes. They can be installed from 2mm-9mm with the top end making them ideal for steam cleaning.Our anti-slip surfaces are systems ideal for steps, walk-ways, workshop floors – to name a few.We also provide permanent line marking to ensure staff are working within current social distance guidelines to help to keep everyone safe. These demarcation lines help outline hazardous areas, loading bays or pathways within warehouses to reduce risk.
We are approved applicators of Reflector Enhanced Floor Systems. These are the instant eye-catching WOW factor floors which are tough enough to withstand vehicular traffic yet beautiful enough for virtually any interior setting. They provide a tough seamless finish.
We supply free quotations at the absolute best price. We use the highest quality products and the best plant and tools available. We are accredited in the safe working practices set out by Alcumus SafeContractor, CHAS, SMAS and HSAS. I am Site Management Safety Trained Scheme (SMSTS) qualified.

Work! I am passionate about what I do, I eat, breathe and sleep it! I like to give the best service I can give to everyone, every day.

What are your primary markets/sectors?
Our customers are a mix of large industrial and commercial organisations, some very well known, and lots of smaller companies. We have found the Reflector floors attract domestic customers. We do not have customers from any one particular sector. The work we do can be done in numerous types of sector and any size.
Do you have growth plans for the future?
Yes, we intend on attending the EMCON exhibition in the Incubator Zone and we are in touch with local business advisors.We believe there are many businesses out there who do not even know about us.
We have thrived on “word of mouth” referrals for the past 25 years so people must be happy with what we do. We feel that with the help of companies like the Engineering and Manufacturing Network we can let other organisations know about the great service we provide, and I believe this will lead to a larger share of the market.
