Businesses who are keen to expand their supply chain are encouraged to attend an event at East Durham College tomorrow (Tuesday).

Peterlee Business Park and Seaham Business Park groups are hosting their monthly networking event at East Durham College which will explore the opportunities available to firms across the area.

The event is open to CDEMN members and Ben Gilhespy, Operations Director, will be in attendance.

Specifically themed around automotive and public sector, the session will feature a number of invited speakers including Paul Butler, CEO of the North East Automotive Alliance and Ricardo Gutierrez, Purchasing Manager at Peterlee-based automotive manufacturer Mecaplast

The event, which has been organised in partnership with the Durham Business Opportunities Programme (DBOP), will also offer guidance to firms considering applying for tenders and contracts in these key sectors

Steve Metcalfe, Chairman of the Peterlee and Seaham business park steering group, said: “We know businesses want to broaden their customer base and tap into the many supply chain opportunities within the automotive and public sectors.

“We also know many of them don’t know where to start so this event will hopefully break down some of the barriers which currently exist.”

Other speakers include Garry Stone, Director of B2B:North, who is a an experienced bid writing professional, and Ian Murphy, Learner Manager from Profound Services.
